The 2024 Endless Summer Fundraiser was a powerful reminder of the generosity and compassion that fuels Feeding the Spirit’s mission to alleviate food and housing insecurity in Westmoreland County. This year’s event exceeded all expectations, raising over $18,000 after expenses—nearly double the amount from last year. These funds will allow us to provide 4,000 hot meals or 360 nights of emergency shelter to those in need, furthering our commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and families in our community.
Our goals for this year’s fundraiser were clear: to generate critical funds, to increase awareness of the services we provide, and to recognize the incredible sponsors, donors, and volunteers who make our work possible. Thanks to an amazing turnout and the collective efforts of our supporters, we accomplished each of these goals.
Held at the Stratigos Banquet Centre, the event featured a festive beach-themed atmosphere filled with creative and joyful elements, from a tiki hut to raffle prizes, including vacation getaways and cooking classes. Guests embraced the spirit of the evening, and their enthusiastic participation reflected the shared passion for our mission. A highlight of the night came from our 50/50 raffle winner, who once again donated her winnings back to Feeding the Spirit, continuing a tradition of generosity that touched everyone in attendance.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the incredible contributions of our sponsors. Organizations like The Nutrition Group play an essential role not only through financial support but also through direct action that aligns with our mission. As a long-term partner, The Nutrition Group provides frozen meals for our weekly distributions, exemplifying the collaborative spirit needed to address food insecurity in our region.
Our volunteers were the heart of the fundraiser, dedicating countless hours to ensure its success. From securing sponsorships to setting up the venue and managing event logistics, their hard work and creativity brought our vision to life. Every detail, from the raffle baskets to the gift card tree, reflected their dedication to making the evening impactful and memorable for all who attended.
As we celebrate the success of this year’s Endless Summer Fundraiser, we are already looking forward to the future. Our 2025 event is scheduled for September 13 at the same venue, and we are eager to build on this year’s achievements to create an even greater impact for our community.
